MUSIC!!! [Jun. 27th, 2005|04:26 pm]
[Current Mood |excitedexcited]
[Current Music |Journey - Open Arms]

Anyone who loves music, specifically independent music, and lives in
the
Western NY area knows that the indie music scene in this area is truly
remarkable! Styles ranging from rock to punk to emo to post-hardcore
to
metal to alternative to hardcore to jam and anything else imaginable
in-between - Buffalo, NY is a hot-bed of diverse talent that sooner or
later
the rest of the world will be fortunate enough to familiarize
themselves
with. However, why wait for them to come to us? Why don't we ALL get
our
collective s*it together, as a 'community', and help expose our
home-town
musical heroes to everyone on this planet?!

That being said, I am proud to announce the 'Travelin' Band Showcase'!
The
premise behind this live concert series is to bring multiple
out-of-town and
WNY bands together on the same stage for two reasons: (1) a great rock
and
roll show and (2) create a viable networking environment that ALL indie
bands can use in their plight for stardom, i.e. make new friends, share
information, exchange name/numbers/places, discuss best practices, etc.
When you put 50+ musicians in one room, who are all out to eventually
accomplish the same goal, the pool of resources is too deep too ignore.

It is with great pleasure that I announce ...
'Travelin' Band Showcase v1.0'!

[Current Music |Believe in You - Treasure Clarity]

I haven't updated LJ in about 2 months or so. I've been too busy to write. Well I'll be attending a wedding in a few months. I've been busy doing stuff for that. School ends very soon!!! I've been studying like crazy for exams! I'll start volunteering at a camp right around the time of the wedding too. That will be fun so I can't wait. I just thought I'd give you a quick update. Next time I'll write more in depth about stuff. Until then..later!

This is sad but it makes you think... [Mar. 21st, 2005|07:53 am]
[Current Mood |tiredtired]
[Current Music |The Early November - All We Ever Needed]

Picture everything in ur head.
you never know when something like this might happen.

It's Friday night and you are driving your car.

( what kind of car are you driving?)

(YOU ARE THE DRIVER!!!)

You can only have FOUR other people
in the car with you.

(who is in the car with you?)

As you drive, you and your friends
start chillin to some music.

( what song are you all listening to?)

So, there you are chillin to some music
with four other people

all of a sudden this crazy driver hits
you in the back!

You are flying down the road out of control.

You hit a speed bump and the car flips and lands upside-down in the grass beside the road.

You lay there crying because
you are in so much pain

You hear nothing but silence.

silence

silence

silence.

You try to yell out to your friends,
but you are in so much pain and shock
the words won't come out.

You lay there for about 2 minutes,
but to you it seems like 60 minutes.

You finally hear something.

You hear the ambulance and you
have never felt more relieved.

You lay there, still in the car, thinkin about your

family,

friends,

School,

past holidays,

old friends,

old lovers

You start to pray for the other people in
the car and for yourself.

The paramedics get you out of the car,
put you on a stretcher, and then
into the ambulance.

you see nothing and hear nothing
but a void....you are alone

You don't get a chance to see the other
people that were in the car with you

As they drive to the hospital,
you pray and think to yourself

"Am I going to die?"

Where are my friends?

Are they okay?

What's going to happen to me.......?

Did you die or not?

What happened to your friends that
were in the car with you......?

They all died.

All of the other people in the car died.

They are all gone.

You'll never get to see them again.

As for you...

you died too.

Wait you were just imagining....right ?

But what if it were real?

What if it really happened to you?

Think about it....

That car was the LAST car you
were EVER in with your friends.

Those four people were the
LAST people you EVER saw.

Did you pick the four people in the
car with you wisely...

or do you wish that someone else
was in the car with you?

The song you were chillin to was the
LAST song you EVER heard.

Don't you wish you could have had the chance to
tell everyone you loved them?

Don't you wish you could have told your parents
you loved them one last time?

Don't you wish you could have
kissed your boy/girlfriend one last time?

Don't you wish you could have told
your crush how much you loved them?

Don't you wish you could hug your
friends one last time?

Don't you wish you had the chance
to do all of those things?

You still do....

[Current Music |Hidden in Plain View - Garden Statement]

Well...I just realized that I did two reviews but oh well...I'm too lazy to remove one. Yesterday was an interesting day. Ashley came over to make soup for Bob only to find out that he already had soup so Ashley ate it herself. We hung out for a while and talked to people. Then, Keith came over later and hung out. He gave me tickets to sell for a show and some stickers. I'm going to a show tomorrow and I have to pass out fliers while I'm there so that'll be fun. I get to see Brian tomorrow too! YAY! LOL I'm a loser I know. K...Back to eating. Later!

HIPV Show review [Feb. 22nd, 2005|12:00 am]
[Current Mood |tiredtired]
[Current Music |Eric Clapton - Tears in Heaven]

I can hardly think of words to describe it. It was amazing. I personally think Punchline and Hidden in Plain View did the best. I was in the pit for both bands and it was amazing!! Chris and Eric hung out in the back and held onto my stuff for me. NGB, Kogut, Justin, and Aaron moshed. I was farther up front with Molly and Ally getting pushed around and I absolutely loved it. I got kicked in the head from people moshing. I got punched too and left a little bruise. Everyone who wasn't there missed out on a sweet show. Cory, sorry you couldn't be there. If my pix come out, I'll show them to you. Well...I'm falling asleep so goodnight!
